Spaceorb 360 (and other 6dof) support lacking?
I've seen the other threads saying you're considering HOTAS support, but here's another request for flexible control assignments. Forsaken was one of the "shipped with a controller" SpaceOrb 360 games. I've spent quite a bit of time keeping those old controllers relevant (search for Orbotron 9000 or look on the jaycrowe spaceorb website; this isn't meant to be an ad) and enjoy seeing them in use.

Other recent 6dof games such as Overload, NeonXSZ, Retrovirus, and a few more have managed to support 6dof devices without hacks like X360CE (even the open-source ForsakenX project supports the Orbotron natively as a remappable device). I know it's an extra hassle because it doesn't look like an XInput controller, but it's more than possible, and since 6dof games are almost as few and far between as 6dof controllers, I'd really like to see support for them in the few games where it can matter.

I finally figured out how to get the CD version of Forsaken to work on Windows 10, and it has full 6DOF joystick support (complete with input indicators, not bad for a 20 year old game.) I'd still like to be able to have some tweaks that this remastered version provides such as 4K, wide FOV, no bob, no roll turn, some extra content. However until the remastered has joystick support (if ever) the CD version works good enough.

Lately I've been playing Doom engine games with a 6DOF joystick thanks to the support of the source ports https://zdoom.org/wiki/Joystick_options Zdoom uses dijoystate (di5+) which has better joystick compatibility than engines using joyinfoex (di3) like ForsakenX, DXX Rebirth, Quake1.
