you should inform the developer about it
Basically, how it works is that the game window contains an "Edit" menu and there is the "Start dictation..." menu item. Everytime you press "D" within the game window (which is also a shortcut for shooting the ink), the "Start dictation..." shortcut takes priority over the game's keybind.
You can fix this by going into "Settings" > "Keyboard" > "Shortcuts" > "App Shortcuts". Then, click the plus button (+) to add a new override for the default "D" shortcut. We are going to bind the "Start dictation..." menu item to something else, so the default dictation "D" shortcut will be overwritten, which will allow the game to read the input and shoot ink properly.
So, after clicking on the plus, you can leave "All applications" selected. Now, click in the "Menu Title" form and input "Start dictation..." exactly (unquoted), but include the three dots at the end. In other words, exactly how "Start dictation..." appears in the windowed game in the "Edit" menu - this also means that if you use a different language, you have to input the translated menu button instead of the English "Start dictation...".
Then, click on the "Keyboard Shortcut" field and press a combination of your "Option" + "Command" + "D" keys. I am not sure why this particular combination works, but setting it to something just like "Command" + "D" won't work, apparently.
Anyways, after you click on "Done" and "Done" (e. g.: save all the settings) and you (re)launch the game, the "D" button should no longer make a weird noise in Monetery (and above) Macs. If ink shooting still doesn't work and is replaced by a Mac noise, check if the shortcut override was properly saved in the "Shortcuts" menu in system settings and that the menu item text ("Start dictation...") is exactly as it appears in the windowed game window under "Edit".

this did NOT help me. I did everything by the instructions, but I still cant shoot the ink in the game. It still makes dictation noises. Also when I use the shortcut I made, it just makes the dock hide away and show up again.
