Cant get the game to start

Hey guys, I just bought this game and cant get it working properly. The first time I started it my head was under the ice. Standing up and coming through the ice was a wierd experience. Now whenever I start it it is black in the headset with the program on screen just saying "waiting for the goalie to set up the game." I cant tell if the app is connected because it doesnt really do anything.
