I loaded my up my Steam Edition savegame right at the end and unlocked the end game achievements by simply playing through it (to unlock insane difficulty).
I had to use SAM to lock these achievements again, since I want to earn them in proper order by starting a whole new game.
Lol.
SAM is the only way to lock achievements.
I even asked (LEGACY!) Steam support if they can implement such a function to lock your achievements of a game again, but they said it isn't possible.
Just something to think about:
Imagine you play Ark singleplayer and use admin commands to give your player char EXP and goodies until max level.
Simply as you just want to have a high-end char quick to test out some stuff you may want to use on your server.
At least if you own a server and know it's good to test out mods before implementing them blindly.
However, you'll unlock an achievement for reaching max level, but you used console commands to reach max level.
Is that fair? No.
So the only way to get rid of that cheated achievement is to lock it again by SAM.
