Of course this assumes you have friends that are capable of helping you out, but zone 1 isn't too difficult to get help for. :P
Also, Tuesday has an itemfind bonus. Try saving energy to spend when Monday ends, unless you're after familiars today.
I can help you :) IGN(in-game name)? I can friend you and you can use me to beat all Heroic dungeons like up to Zone 4.
Damn, If axiss is helping yah then add me too :) /v solviolas
My nickname the same as here, Enfyny.
You can privately message any friend whenever they are active. Note that chatlog is not saved when disconnecting from the game.
In any case, yeah, I was kind of the same way when I first started out. Didn't even join a guild until I had reached my first raid. The game is still very much playable to a point without needing powerful allies, just takes a little bit longer to grind for stuff.
I'd also recommend checking out Bob10110's guide - he seems to have posted it here on Steam as well as the Kongregate forums where I read it at. Plenty of helpful tips in there. ^_^
That said, try to get at least full tier 5 Epic equipment (or tier 4 Legendaries) in each slot if you haven't already, and then you can look pretty much anywhere for the materials to upgrade all of those to max in order to get past zone 5.
Regarding D4: The itemrate multiplier is lower, but there are more encounters in D4 compared to the other dungeons. You can find certain unique cosmetic items there, too - each boss in a D4 has two cosmetics usually themed after that boss. The equipment drops will be of the same tier as the zone, though, so that loot is not necessarily "better" - just more chances at it. And yes, that applies for the gem piles on the dungeon floor too - more chances at those since the dungeon is bigger, so you do get more gems on average when running a D4.
