yea for if you want to support the devs, as of now i would not play it, there is little to no behaviors, mechanics, AI, etc for the guests and dinosaurs.
if they really do add all the stuff and finish it, that would kinda ruin it for me spending a lot of time on the shell it is now, thats up to you if that matters.
also people say that about games that wind up being in early access for 8 yrs easy or never come out of it.
I wouldn't say blindly 'yes buy to support they need it' when that could be the outcome, do it if you realize thats the risk and you still wish to take it
You have a very deep control over the placement. You can add about anything to existing structures or create your own with basic shapes (check the workshop to see player made stuff). It's not like the JW games where everything has been made to either snap together or not. It's more management focused than arcade.
There's also lots of pretty dinosaurs and more recent mammals (mammoths etc) so the variety is nice. The dinos themselves have actually more behaviors than in other games but as of now do not interact, so they can swim, walk, play, eat, drink and sleep. They won't fight or attack but that's on the roadmap. They are also not getting sick or anything.
The enclosures can also be finely customized with more types of fences, rocks and pools but also invisible barriers for fence-less designs. There are several vegetation types and you can customize the size and density. Same with water, it can be still, rough, deeper.
Visitors use the amenities and queue when it's crowded. They take pictures and selfies. They don't wear what they bought like in JPOG (that would be really nice though). There's also no minigun turrets or any safety/security dino management. There are lots of benches, bins, vending machines and such small amenities to customize the park.
The attractions are purely viewing platforms and bridges which can also be used by the dinos between enclosures.
You have to manage staff and stocks and not just the visitors but it's thankfully pretty basic, it's not a financial management sim.
For what is obviously coming up, there will be some illnesses and dna enhancement. There's also going to be energy management, viewable dinos areas (with attractions), and more of such nerdy management stuff.
I can say that simply because most of the base mechanics are alredy present. They just don't do anything right now. It takes a lot of fiddling to calibrate that stuff in dev.
The only kinda janky stuff is some menu design (but I'm picky with this) and sometimes visitors just walk through fences into habitats (this should stay in game and they just get "darwined" for trespassing). Connecting some attractions is sometimes an issue but that might be me. There are sometimes issues with staffing but it's pretty rare.
Other than this I haven't had any crash or technical issue with a rather low end pc (3600 and 1660ti). To me, what is actually in game works totally fine and there's quite a lot.
The game is really easy since there's no adverse event, yet. You build your park and enjoy your creation. It's only a boring game if you struggle with imagination or patience, kinda like legos. Then JW is much more fun.
Oh and the play area is massive compared to JW.
The dev seem to be pretty active, more than most other teams. the game is certainly worth it on sale and full price if you're into building stuff first and dinos second.
