What does animal wellfare mean?

This might be one of the most obvious question youve ever hered. However i am unsure and having trouble understanding!

Does turning animal wellfare on, meaning they will have needs. or no?
im struggling with finding the option to have my dinos want/ need stuff

Yes animal welfare is needs. Trees, water, space requirements, habitat crowding

Animal Wellfare is basically; are you using the correct biomes for the animals, are you giving them housing, food and water. Do you keep the environment clean (cleaning poop) etc. Currently it's still pretty basic, but it will be added and improved upon with future updates.
