Is this game done by Frontier Developments?
I know it says a different publisher and developer on the store page, but the engine looks identical to the "Planet" series e.g. planet zoo or planet coaster.

My guess is Frontier has a contract with Universal Pictures due to Jurassic World Evolution and that meant they were unable to make the Dinosaur game they really wanted to make. Are they getting around this by just selling off their engine to another dev or what?

Nope! Prehistoric Kingdom started off as a small scale project back in 2014, and is the first game by Blue Meridian, and published by Crytivo!

PK is built using Unity, and Frontier Dev use their own in-house engine called Cobra.

This really isn't the same engine? It looks so similar. Almost identical even.

Frontier uses their own Cobra game engine for their titles. PK was made with Unity and FMod.

No, it's like saying Dune looks like Starcraft, if Dune looked like Starcraft.

I don't think this person will ever be convinced no matter what... even if the developers themselves responded with, no it's not. And they already have.

Are there similarities? Sure. Is it the same team and engine? No.

I never said I didn't believe it. I just said there are an awful lot of similarities.

Nope dude. More like, because the two games are exactly the same.. lol, not just because they belong to the same theme. Thats why the op got probably confused. If you look at the little content PK has right now, everything in it is already in JWE2. :p the only difference is that the park editor and i hope the terrain editor from PK in the future are going to be decent, not like the garbage we have in JWE2.

So does that mean Jurassic World Evolutions 1 and 2, Planet Zoo, and Prehistoric Kingdom are all using the same engine as this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=un_mCVTiD24

No. Frontier uses Cobra engine. PK uses Unity. They're completely different games yet similar.
