My game is stuck at the download.
Yesterday when the game launched, I downloaded the game and played for 5 minutes, and went back to work. After a while, I tried starting the game again, but ran into a patch. The patch downloaded around 300KB and stopped. In the download, is just says paused, but every time I press resume, it just pauses again. I tried to reinstall the game several times, but no good. Every time the game would get stuck after the download of the full game is complete, and when I check the download on Steam, it says Disk Write Error. I have more than enough space for the game. After trying to reinstall several time, I decided to change the download into my E Drive (HDD), and it worked.

I was able to play the game without issues today, until the new patch arrived. Same problem. I would launch the game and it would try to patch. The patch download gets stuck at around 300KB, and wouldn't continue. Same Disk Write Error in the download page.

I tried clearing the Steam Game Folder Cache. I tried check the game file integrity, but that gets stuck at 0% for 10 minutes. I tried clearing the Steam download cache. I'm going nuts. I don't know what is causing the issue. Is it Steam, or is it Prehistoric Kingdom.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you aren't even able to get to the point where the game is launching, it is a Steam issue. I can only suggest the usual fixes: validating files, uninstall/reinstalling, disabling anti-virus or whitelisting PK in your anti-virus. Make sure you have enough disk space. I know you said you do and have tried some of these tasks already, I'm just listing them all for anyone else that may also stumble upon this thread.

I've had similar issues with installing games myself in the past, usually just removing all the files and reinstalling fixed it. You can also try manually deleting the C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Blue Meridian\Prehistoric Kingdom folder prior to reinstalling, but that will wipe out any keybinds.

I will say what you've described seems to suggest an anti-virus issue to me (or even a disk issue). If the anti-virus deletes the executable as Steam downloads it, it can present similar symptoms.

I also now have this issue

UPDATE:
I've tried every solution and nothing has worked so far. I've added it as an exception to my antivirus, uninstalled and reinstalled, verified integrity, deleted folders, I have tons of space, restarted my computer...

Update again!
It DID finally work after completely disabling my Antivirus

Ok, disabling the anti-virus worked! That very weird though. None of my other games causes this issue. I hope the PK team looks into this, cause this could turn other buyers off if they don't know why it's happening, and only happening to this game.

How do I even patch the game at all? I just loaded the game three times. I didn't have the extra content, such as the Canada map for example. Why isn't there a tutorial for this?

Do you mean update the game? Patching is generally done within that. You may be better off making a new discussion as this doesn't seem related.

Update 10 has not been released yet.
