Animal List REDUX (Updated Version 2020-2025)

Well... never thought I would popup in a youtube video of all places, but one of my older lists was shown in the latest video update on PK by the youtuber Swrve. Made me spit out my pizza when I was watching it this evening, followed by hearty laugh! XD

It did trigger me to make another updated version based on all the current known info we have from the development team of PK.

Once again, I've put all the animals in alphabetical order, separating the dinosaurs from the mammals.

This time I've also listed how many skin variants there will be of each animal and how many different confirmed alternate species. I'll try to update it along the way when we have new updates and such.

Also Swrve has made a new video, this time with all 50 species profiles.

Keep in mind it's more than 40 minutes long and he makes some little mistakes here and there. For example the icons beneath each alt. skin means a different species or integument (scales or feathers). For all the different species types see list below.

If we know for certain that a dinosaur species had feathers it will only have feather type of skins. If it only had scales, it would have only have those. If it could be either way, you can choose both options for some species.

EDIT 2020-10-8: As was mentioned by Byron (Nano) the development team has decided to change the roster of 50 animals at early access release to 22 animals. This means we will get less animals at the start but they will be however of an higher quality. After early access they will add the other animals postlaunch bit by bit (so we will still get all if not most of them shortly afterwards).

EDIT 2022-05-26: As Early Access is now here, more and more animals will be added with each new update. I will add them to the confirmed Early Access animals as they are announced.

Allosaurus and Stegosaurs where once two of the dinosaurs you could release in the 'ye old' Jurassic Patch demo years ago. Together with Ceratosaurus we would finally have the Morrisson formation sort of completed. I only hope they will not forget about Ceratosaurus.

Personally I'm also still hoping for a return of the famous dino/combo Tenontosaurus/Deinonychus (who where scrapped, for some reason I don't for the life of me ever understood). We already have Acrocanthosaurus, give us these two, too, please (with as a bonus Sauropelta and Utahraptor and maybe Sauroposeidon).

Sauropelta and Tenontosaurus will not return, but Deinonychus, Sauroposeidon, Falcarius, etc are all still on the table to flesh out that formation

I remember in one of their very old devlogs they said they were giving the old Deinonychus model to Utahraptor and they were going to bring it back later with a new model Deinonychus later (and then it evidently got scrapped of course).

And a subadult in the background image. The baby has lips. The subadult also seems to be more lippy. Could T.rex be getting a facial overhaul? I hope so, as all other big theropods have glorious lips.

The baby isn't any more "lipped" than the adults, its teeth are just so small they're not visible, said the devs on Discord.

Guess what miss T. rex did? She went to get her lips done.

Now all large theropods have lips and I'm all for it.
