Report a translation problem
Counter frequency and submission offence is judged by your skill stat. As for inputs, I find mashing for countering seems to help.
With submissions, you can press the direction that would move you backwards to crank, making them more likely to tap but also to escape the submission attempt.
Getting up faster, you can just mash the run button.

One last question. What should I be mashing when I am on the wrong end of a submission attempt?
Submissions still aren't going my way... but ill keep trying them. More often then not I get countered into an opposing submission and hoping that I don't lose in a manor that feels like im being screwed.
