Stream avatars feels so heavy and crash everything even the OBS on very high end PC
1. set everything up for a live stream
2. turn on stream avatars
3.Click go live on OBS
4.everything looks good
5.start fortnite everything Crash all along with the stream OBS going offline which is very very bad for my twitch community

i only notice the problem on fortnite currently because iv'e been streaming this game for a while i haven't test stream avatars on another games to see if it does crash everything also

i didnt check my cpu usage but well check on soon i will update more information here

the only fix worked for me is Starting the Game first and wait it to finish loading and everything
then start up my stream setup and stream avatar and go live everything works great then.
everything is Updated drivers so its not from my PC its from stream avatars and i notice when i stream and turn it on it feels So heavy to minimize and reopen again when going live which is very weird

my Main applications are in C folder and they are M.2 storage type i tested installing fortnite into my main C folder to see if it does effect stream avatars but the problem is still there idk what else to do so i figure i should post a discussion here to reach out i notice iam not the only one who have this problem

It would be nice to know how much resources stream avatars is eating in your task manager. Also what quality you are are streaming on OBS with.

Another thing to consider is, OBS could be the crash culprit, because it's doing a lot more work than stream avatars.

It could have something to do with the 4k display, what window size is Stream Avatars when it crashes?

Here's some things to try:

1) Try using stream avatars in the smallest possible window size (Just for testing) and see if you can reproduce the crash.

2) A good test could be running fortnite + Stream Avatars to see if there's any issues without OBS.

3) Make sure your graphics card drivers are up to date.

4) Screenshot your performance task manager like this: https://i.imgur.com/2227EOT.png

5) When the crash occurs, open: Event viewer -> Windows Logs > Application
& on the right Filter Current Log... > Filter by Error and Critical.
Look for logs related to OBS/Stream Avatars/Fortnite

Your computer specs are definitely far and beyond the requirements to run stream avatars. I hope we can find something to fix this for you.

* i play the game on 4k but my stream output video is 720 HD
* i took a look at yesterday task manager when i stream using streamlabs OBS and used stream avatars and ran fortnite it was taking about 40%~50% and stream avatars was taking 4%~5% but the avatars was in the stream were me and 1 person so 2 characters this only happen when i turn on fornite but after that i did not see the task manager after fortnite finish loading and running but iam sure all CPU usage was back to very low % i will take screenshot on my next stream before and after to see the difference.

Another thing to consider is, OBS could be the crash culprit, because it's doing a lot more work than stream avatars.

* i did not see how much OBS CPU % i wasn't sure it was the problem but i will take a look on my next stream with screenshot before and after.

It could have something to do with the 4k display, what window size is Stream Avatars when it crashes?

* it was on a default i never touch the window size of stream avatars but i did try to customize it after crash happens and for starters it didnt crash on yesterday stream.

Here's some things to try:

1) Try using stream avatars in the smallest possible window size (Just for testing) and see if you can reproduce the crash.

* i did not understand what you mean by this are you referring to the OBS stream avatars window size source or do you mean settings of windows size inside stream avatars ?

2) A good test could be running fortnite + Stream Avatars to see if there's any issues without OBS.

* i did this test and everything works like a charm no crash but stream avatars does feels heavy and there is Seconds delays upon minimize and reopen stream avatars .

3) Make sure your graphics card drivers are up to date.

* all PC drivers are up to Date 100% sure double checked.

4) Screenshot your performance task manager like this: https://i.imgur.com/2227EOT.png

* well do in my next stream which will be Soon.

5) When the crash occurs, open: Event viewer -> Windows Logs > Application
& on the right Filter Current Log... > Filter by Error and Critical.
Look for logs related to OBS/Stream Avatars/Fortnite

* search for it but did not see anything about OBS or stream avatars and also nothing about fortnite but when Crash's was happening there were no Crash or anything , just force close everything ( OBS , stream avatars) when i start Stream and stream avatars already running and crash happens when i load fortnite while being Live doesn't show me anything to see what the error code or type of error

this PC is 3 month old its brand new there is no corrupt files the operating system working in perfect condition

i will update this discussion as soon i get the screenshots please be patience and excuse my english grammer its not my first language , thank you for taking the time to look at my issue.

I don't understand when you say it feels heavy, yet it consumes 4-5% cpu?

Check the Event Viewer when the crash happens. If a window closes without an error it should appear there. Applications closing without error does not sound normal at all, and I think that means there's an error occuring with either CPU@100% OR Graphics card driver error.

I have been reading up on similar problems happening with OBS, it always points to BUGS with OBS or BUGS with graphics cards drivers. It could be having 2 Game-Captures running or a fullscreen game capture+a window-mode gamecapture specifically with your graphics card.

Are you overclocking your graphics card? One post I read says lowering overclock stabalized OBS from shutting stuff down.

There have been issues in the past with users experiencing crash problems, they were related to their CPU capping out at 100% because they were running other things while streaming.

Right now it doesn't seem like there's any code I could change to fix your crash problem aside from optimizations, but even if it's not optimized, I don't think it would cause problems like this.

Thanks for letting me know.

iam sure it wasn't fullscreen 4k (3840 x 2160) it was close to my current size 1129x1139 which i only resize it little bit i dont remember how much it was when i launch stream avatars for first time , after today stream now i double 100% sure there is no Crash , i even Tried to make it crash for testing purpose but it never happened which is amazing the stream was smooth no fps drops nothing everything was perfect and my views loved stream avatars

i can say for sure that everything got fixed for me after i resize stream avatars window by little from its default size , i could press delete everything and all data but iam much deep into the characters and the customize that i dont wanna start over again :steamfacepalm:
