downloading and creating visual novels seems to not be working on linux?

when running the linux version, after downloading a game moving the cursor to the next game and going back it will show the game had not downloaded. same thing happens when creating a game, enter title and then escape back to the selection screen and no game will exist. so it seems this is a problem with folder and file permissions as it seems that it is not being allowed to create the files needed

If you're using the BETA version, it does not support linux native yet. The original release works when running it through Proton.

just tried running it with steam play enabled, and i am getting the message "This game is not authorized to be standalone"

That message usually is displayed if it's configuration files are not able to be found. It may be a file permissions issues. I'll take a look into it. Are you using the latest Proton Experimental?

tested this with latest proton-experimental, latest proton-ge and proton 7.0-4 and all seem to have this issue

Alright thanks for the report, i'll be looking into this as i'm trying to make VNE compatible with steamdeck as well.
