ridiculously hard, frustration instead of fun
EDIT: If you're like me and have these issues, just read the comments and keep trying. It'll get better with time. My account below is pretty harshly worded but in the end it was just my fault.

From the looks of it it's just me but this game is hard to the point where it's not enjoyable whatsoever.
This is the first WWE game I've tried to play and I can't even be bothered to keep trying. No matter who I play against who, the opponent only ever has to get one hit in and then the match turns into a one-button quick time event where I have to hit a ludicrously tiny reversal window and if I can't, I'm just gonna get beat until I lose. The reversal window appears before any useful telegraphing takes place and disappears before my finger even reaches the button. Not only can't I win a single match but in almost an hour of playing, I haven't used a single signature move because the game turns into this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥t at the slightest hit I take. There's difficult games I've picked up and the challenge was fun and engaging but not here. All I feel is frustration and a migraine because there's literally nothing I can do to get better because I never even get the chance to make a move besides maybe throw a single punch.

I expected to pick this up and have some cool fights where I don't have to be some sort of fighting game virtuoso to have fun in.

That all said, I'd be glad to receive some tips on how to improve the experience for me as a total noob. I already put the difficulty on the lowest setting and increased the reversal sliders in game balance which made little to no difference at all. When playing on easy, I expect to be able to at least play the game as a total beginner but instead I'm still just getting my♥♥♥♥♥handed to me.

The tricky thing about reversals is that if you're trying to react to the prompts, you'll already be too late most of the time. In order to improve, you need to learn the AI's habits and get a feel for when a reversal window is going to pop up by watching the opponent's movement, not the prompts. At the same time, you don't always want to reverse every single move. If you have a reversal bar nearly filled up, it might be better to take a bit of punishment rather than waste the incomplete bar on top of a full bar.

I don't expect you to learn every single move and it's reversal points, but you should at least be able to react the basic grappling motion with some practice. If not, then this simulation style gameplay may not be for you and that's totally understandable. Some people can still just play for the creation suite and/or to spectate AI matches.

You might just want to go in the game options and adjust the a.i reversal slider to a very low level to get some enjoyment at least.

Hmm I guess it's different from most video games in that way. Usually, you'd expect to get the grip of a game in the tutorial and then play it with a baseline of competence to overcome the challenges set. In this game you're expected to lose a bunch to learn how to build that baseline competence. I'll give it another chance keeping that in mind, thanks.

Slider are your friends! 1st page slider for reversals, move all the way to the left if need be. 2nd page reversals slider, move all the way to the right, if need be. Then start on easy. Over time, you should be able to move those sliders back to normal, then make it harder.

Yet I never lose on Legend with max and equal stats,
what else, oh yeah : I win by tapouts, play with very high counter silders,
reverse limit, and what else? Oh yeah, on Legend,

Result : You just suck .

You're the type of person every community just loves. The elitist prick who feels the need to state his own superiority over someone who just said he was a noob just to make the point that OP is a noob. A self-defeating, unhelpful schmuck whose only source of self-worth seems to be to elevate himself above those who don't have the same level of skill he has.

Every community has them, every community wishes they didn't. I hope you're proud.

To all the others: I actually gave it another few hours and I'm starting to win my fights. It really just took some getting used to. I was a bit too harsh in my first post. Thanks for all the tips, they all helped!

I've been playing WWE 2K since it first came out last 2015.. It's really hard to master the reversals at first, especially the 2nd chance reversals ( yellow reversals), but with practice and correct timing, you'll be enjoying this in legendary mode like you're Vince Mcmahon telling the wrestlers what to do. :steamhappy:
