Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti - WWE 2K18 not on supported games list?
I don't normally post like this but I need reassurance. I am by no means a computer expert so try not to burn me at the stake too quickly if I don't understand.

This gaming laptop that I got in the springtime has a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card. I can play games like World of Warcraft and The Sims at max settings with no framerate issues, Spotify on in the background, etc. World of Warcraft is double the size of WWE 2K18 and I can not hit home enough, it runs damn near perfectly on a laptop I bought within this year that I only use for gaming.

I just bought WWE 2K18 and could already tell there would be lag issues (I believe that means framerate issues) when the music goes in and out at the "Then, Now, Forever" opening. It's not freezing, nothing is going black, it's just always in slow motion. All I can identify on this computer is that 1980 x 1020 at 60GHZ is the recommended resolution, yet the only way I can get WWE 2K18 to not be in perpetual slow motion (let alone play a match) is by turning the resolution down. The lower I turn it down, yes the faster it works.

My thoughts from spending all morning digging on forums and through my computer settings: When I go to what on other discussions have called the "Nvidia Control Panel" it's called GeForce Experience on this computer. World of Warcraft and the three or so other games I have installed on the computer are listed right there. I have scanned for WWE 2K18 and it doesn't come up. I have manually put in the file location of WWE 2K18 and it doesn't come up. Note now that other games in Steam do show up automatically, like Friday the 13th for example.

This leads me to the "Supported Games" section of Nvidia's GeForce Experience page and WWE 2K18 is NOT listed. Other 2K games are, but no WWE games at all. What this means to me, and why it is running so poorly when (again I know) a behemoth like World of Warcraft runs fantastically, is the game is trying to run on the computer's default Intel card rather than the Nvidia graphics card which is obviously there for gaming purposes.

So this is kind of where I'm at. I suppose the question is do I have to conclude that this game is in a small portion of games that this Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card doesn't support? But then why can't I even manually add it to the graphic card settings like other discussions have said to do (it looks like those are older models than this card)? I would love to know, although I can assume it's the latter, is this a graphics card issue or WWE 2K games compatability issue?

I'm sorry for blabbing, but I don't find WWE 2K18 worth playing at such a low resolution when much larger games run at optimal resolution with no framerate issues. The real question at the end of the day is should I get a refund asap or can I expect that WWE 2K18 will be patched to support what I believe is a fairly recent and popular gaming computer and graphics card? Again sorry for the long post, hopefully someone understands what I'm saying. Maybe this even helps other people playing this game especially now while it's on sale.

The GPU is fine for this game, what does your laptop have in it for a CPU? Also the next time you start the game up press ALT+Enter once you're into the game. This will put the game to windowed mode and could potentially help you out with your frame rate issues. This game likes to start at 4K (2160p) resolution by default and you need a pretty damn good machine to run a game at 4k.

If that helps with the FPS issue, then go into your options and choose your desired resolution. Depending on your CPU (gaming isn't all about the GPU, you need a decent CPU as well) you can potentially play at 1080p with next to no issues. (outside of the potential FPS drops in 8 man matches)

Hopefully this will be all you need to do for a smoother experience haha. (Also, I didn't read everything, kind of skimmed it, so sorry if I missed something, or addressed something you already said. I'm typing this while in between calls for my uncles doctors.)

Hopefully this is the CPU: I believe it's an Intel Core i5-7300HQ @ 2.50 GHz. 8 GB of ram with 7.87 still usable. I'll try changing it to windowed mode. The hard drive could be larger so it's already over half full, that hasn't seemed to affect other games though. Thank you for responding quickly.

OK so the facts and perfromance comparisosns are as follows.

your GPU is about 2% under minimum but due to various factors should run the game ok.

comparison below
http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-670-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1050-Ti/2181vs3649

your CPU is slightly slower than the Intel I5-3550 but it is faster than the AMD FX 8150

your Computer should run the game, but dont expect 60fps at 1080p
also I suggest you look at temp on CPU.
thermal throttleing might make the game slow down halfway into a match if the CPU gets too hot.

my personal choice given your hardware would be 720p, at that res it should give a solid 60fps and not cause the machine to get hot.

just turn the crowd density down.

but if the game doesn't launch then that might be an issue i just purchased a 1050TI and i wanted to buy this game to test my new card on...

ended up buying the game

i only get 43 frames its a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bummer.

all settings off textures low and crowd at 25%

wth my 760 was playing wwe2k16 at 60 frames...

This game is a lot more machine hungry than WWE2K16 as was shown by the minimum requirements specs

Sadly, this is what you're going to get from most AAA games now. They are designing to hit 30 fps on PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. They just simply are no longer putting in the effort to optimize games for mid spec PC systems any more. If you want to hit 1080p, 60 fps in most of these newer games, you need at least a 1070 or 480.

I am facing the same issue. I am running on a 16 GB RAM, i7 6700HQ, Nvidia 970M. It's an alienware. Every other runs fine in ultra high quality but this game won't even work with low graphics.

i just bought a 1060 6gb and it seems to pull fine on 1080p, i cant max out settings but atleast im at 1080p and have a crowd

I think I remember seeing some faq say that some laptops revert to the on board graphics chip rather than the 1050ti chip when the game launches. can you verify it's using the 1050ti as your gpu?

Edit: just realized how old this topic is

What CPU do you have? 1060 should run this game really well imo.

Glad to hear your new card is working out.I am surprised to hear it cant do 1080p maxed. what other programs do you run in the background ? antivirus etc?.
I had an issue with my computer switching to the default GPU that was 500 and somthing which is under the min req... Steve's suggestion of checking if the other GPU (1000 and somthing) was switched on worked... It wasn't switched on so when I turned it on and made it the default GPU the game worked perfectly fine on highest settings

I tried this game on my spare pc-i5 2500s (old I know), 8gb ram and GTX960 4gb. Is this good running for such an old machine?

59-60 fps gameplay.
Gpu: 53-55c
CPU 50-51c

was that a simple 1vs1 man match, with all the options at the standard settings at 1080p. you might get slowdown in more complicated matches, but that is fairly good performance, I take it you are running win 7?.
