Local Multiplayer with 8 Controllers?

I've had to drop every single 2k wwe game because they never supported 6 players all using controllers. On pc you were always allowed 5 controllers and the last player HAD to use keyboard. I know theres apps that let you bind controllers to keyboard keys but I wasn't about to waste my time doing so.
Something so simple yet for years they never got it right on PC.
I just want to be able to play with my family and friends when they come over.
Please let me know if its possible to play 8 players all using controllers or at least even 6.

It's kind of sad that an early access indie game like gangbeasts can support 8 players no problem but 2k wwe games cant.
