Console and PC cost the same for Digital Deluxe
Really though the issue as far as I am concerned is less about PC users not getting early access and more about the marketing campaign being misleading so that so many users are confused. I would encourage folks to write into 2k support about the issue, not because I think they will change their minds or anything, but just because I think they should recognize they made a mistake and need to be clear next time
Christ....
Examples: On every single WWE show since they announced the PC release date at least one promotion ran with advertising statements to the effect of "Preorder WWE 2k18 Digital Deluxe to play 4 days early." 2k's "Here's What You Get For Preordering" stated that consumers who preorder Digital Deluxe get Early Access for weeks after the PC release date announcment and was only updated yesterday morning to state that PC users won't have early access after customers asked questions (I know, I was one of them and got an apology from 2k's customer support). There have been tons of marketing statements since the PC release date was announced that don't distinguish between console and PC platforms. That's misleading
In fact, at least one retailer appears to be confused. Gamestop's order page for the PC Digital Deluxe download continues to contain the text " Play 4 days early! Upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for Early Access!" even though the download will not unlock until Tuesday
Bully for you that you happened to catch the initial press release that clarified, but that doesn't excuse 2k's misleading advertisements that continued after that announcement.
They had a simple solution, which was instead of advertising that "customers who preorder the Deluxe version will get early access" they could have advertised "customers who preorder the Deluxe version on Xbox One or Playstation 4 will get early access" but they either chose not to or neglected to do so. Intentional or not that appears to have misled customers into preordering the Digital Deluxe edition thinking they were paying extra for early access. That's an advertising mistake on 2k's part
So again, easy fix. If a user here selects PC, have text pop up explaining the lack of early access. Or possibly include this information explicitly on the Steam Store page. Instead, this is false, misleading advertising
and WWE.COM stated that PC users. WILL NOT get early access. and since they own the rights to the game, if they say NO. then NO it will be.
As I outlined above, 2k has made inconsistent and misleading statements that confused people. Consumers should be able to take 2k at their word without having to do research on twitter to find the secret real deal.
Skippy can't put crunchy peanut butter in all the jars labeled creamy just because they announced it on twitter. That's false advertisement
