MP - Does KQB support a combination of local and online?

Thinking about picking this game up but trying to figure out the multiplayer possibilities. Are these scenarios possible with KQB:

Me and a friend on my local computer. Two of my online friends join my team, and we play against 4 randoms.

Me and a friend on my local computer. We get 2 randoms to join us, and we play against my online friends (either 4 of them, or some combination of friends + randoms on their team).

Thanks. I've run into pleasant surprises trying to combine local with online multiplayer and friends (ie Duck Game, Starwhal, etc) and not so pleasant surprises (so many others!)

It just starts right away for quick play and ranked.... and custom match won't let me add more players via keyboard, only add bots or invite players on Steam. I don't see any option for local play, but the controls are listed for each player in the menu... I don't have any controllers to test.

General rule of thumb:
not more than 4 per party (local or coop)
no mixing of randoms and party members in between opposite teams

I think they want to avoid cannibalization of the arcade game.

Normally I would just buy the game and discover this for myself, but as I said I've been screwed with other games when trying to mix couch and online friends, so I figured I'd ask these questions instead of finding out the hard way after me and 3 friends buy it.

We're also pretty good at the cabinet game so the idea of playing against fresh players is a good one, even though this game is different.
