Where do you find legendary crafting material?

I'm a little confused where to get different items or legendary crafting material. It seems like I keep just getting the same loot over and over. Some items like the cloak if you get it on one character it doesnt seem to pop up any more. Do certain levels drop certain loot?

Apart from scrolls and potions, I believe you can only have one of each item. As for legendary crafting materials, I've just been scrapping my legendary items I've found.

okay thanks, I was hoping there was some level where you can get it easier. that grind might be too much.

Scrap Ioun Stones and tap the highest tier chests (although these don't always have legendary crafting materials).

Ya I've been farming the quest that you need to get 3 chests to win, and I do get the legendary cloak and stone items then I break them down but I havent even gotten enough for one legendary upgrade yet, not even close. Is there a level you get the high level chest from every time? I've tried killing the end boss lots but he doesnt seem to drop anything special.

Actually I think it's just rare. In one save I had two characters that had the cloak and the elven boots.

The legendary chest are only given when you finish the last 3 quest in horrific. Take the misty gates quest, really easy to grind.
