Also, watch for Unbroken: A solo game of survival and revenge. It finished Kickstarter but I'm not sure when it'll come to retail. Its quite a good solo game.
Hardly most, but quite a lot.
It is pretty dumb they didn't include multiplayer or adapt the other board games. They would've made much better add-on content than the DLC.
The Scythe soIo mode is good. you can have hours of fun just playing it alone. I played a few games against the automa and got skilled enough to beat my friends who were very skilled euro games experts, but Scythe is still a multiplayer game at its heart.
if every game with an "automa" mode was considered a single player game, you "Could" say that
Terraforming Mars and Viticulture would also be "single player", because they have modes you can play against Automa opponents.
however, I acknowledge that if the OP is just looking for a board game that "can" be played solo, there are many games available.
pretty much ANY cooperative game such as Pandemic, can be played solo, since most times, everyone is just sitting around the table discussing everyone elses moves (sometimes with an "Alpha gamer" more or less taking over), you could just play it by yourself.
I own Pandemic on the ipad and have played the ♥♥♥♥ out of it...to the point where I can almost no longer play it with real people because I solved it and run the risk of accidentally being the alpha gamer at the table and pissing everyone off because I didn't let them figure it out, I dunno.
There are also many, many games that are specificially designed to be played solo. Hostage Negotiator is probably the first one I ever played.
you can find all this info on boardgamegeek dot com
p.s. : after looking back over the OP, it appears as if they are not looking for a single player board game, rather being sarcastic at their observation that you don't see many people IRL playing board games alone. so whatever. i'm not deleting my post.
