So um.. what's with the encounters? I seem to fail most of them.
2 hours in and man... these encounters are bullsht.

Is it truly balanced at the beginning of the game? I mean i encounter something. Ok i can cancel it but majority of the times i roll are going to fail. I rolled a 15... nope, fail. Bad trap, take damage.

Oh look, i won... um.. nothing happened, usually. Once my whole party got healed. Cool, but then again the majority of the times i do win, nothing happens.

In a way, i think i get it. It's sort of a way to prevent you from exploring endlessly and to know your limit on when to stop. but really? 1-15 i fail? That's 75% to fail and many times that do succeed nothing happens. I don't know about you but to me that is seriously unbalanced.

You might just be unlucky. The board game does have encounters that require a 16+ but most require 10 or 11

Perhaps i am unlucky, but the times i do roll anywhere between 10 to 15 i have failed all of them.

I will do more tests later and record all rolls with success and failures to them.

When you say "fail" what do you mean? The dice roll for an Encounter is to determine what the Encounter is from a list, most of the list is bad. You actually generally want to explore because there are only some tiles with Encounters and if you don't explore you will 100% get an encounter.

Good Encounter = Green spark.
Bad Encounter = Red Spark.

Right now i'm seeing mostly bad encounters even when i roll in between 10 to 15.

In one game, all rolls recorded(in order) with their effects:

An eerie silence: Roll = 11. Red spark. You are being watched. Closest monster gains advantage.
The air feels heavy: Roll = 12. Red spark. Assassin Vine. Attack and stun the active Hero.
Keep your eyes open: Roll=6. Red spark. Constricted Weed. Stun active hero.
4th roll=16. Green Spark Unkh's Blessing. Heal 40% hp.
Be wary. Roll= 16. Green spark. Friendly Chwinga. Active hero gains advantage.
Something is happening: Roll = 12. Red spark. Girallon's Roar. Next monster to spawn will either be girallon or girallon zombie.
Be wary. Roll = 7. Red spark. Stalker. Spawn an enemy on closest ambush site.
An eerie silence. Roll=14. Red Spark. Zabou Mushroom Spores. Each hero on active hero gains disadvantage.
Something is afoot. Roll = 13. Red spark. Youa re being watched.
". Roll 11. Red Spark. Constricted weed.
Keep your eyes open. Roll = 7. Red spark. Ambush. Monster spawns next to lower hp hero.
Eerie silence. Roll 20.
The air feels heavy. Roll 12. red spark. Outnumbered. Take damage equal to monsters controlled.
Be wary. roll =11. Red spark. Assassin vine.
The air feels heavy. Roll=13. Red spark. Dark Influence. Each hero on or adjacent to ambush site takes damage.
Be wary. roll = 2. Red spark. Biting Insects. Attack hero and nearby allies within 1 tile.
". Roll = 7. Red spark. Constrictor weed.
Keep your eyes open. Roll = 5. Red spark. Meteor shower.
Be wary. Roll = 18. Green spark. High Perception. Find a random object. (it was a gold chest).

I dunno man... 11-14 rolls were all bad encounters.

I was replying based on the board game which has obviously been changed since there is no roll to determine varying result; just a roll determine the encounter type. So yeah, everything under 16 is probably bad, so about 25% good.

You seem to be a bit low on good rolls but as we say in XCOM, RNG baby.

You will lose most of your encounter rolls but they vary greatly in strength so its up to you to decide if its worth to avoid it with adrenaline or save for something worse.
