Character DLCs and the d20's that come with them
I've looked up a few gameplay videos now, and I have yet to see a single d20 in the game. Maybe as I was skipping around I missed them? Assuming I didn't and there aren't actually visible dice rolls, what exactly are the character themed d20s? I'm guessing that doesn't mean they're going to mail me 4 d20s with the different color schemes...

They’re at the top of the screen when your attack die is rolled.

Oh, so you do get to see the actual d20 rolls, then? Cool. Got me a vacation from work coming up in a couple weeks, I think this may be the game I play for a good chunk of it.

It's a lot of fun. Can be a little frustrating at times (as any RNG game can), but overall I'm having a blast.

Here are a couple of screenshots of the character dice in game.

Furthermore in the options you can change the behaviour: Playing without any dicerolls, playing with dicerolls which are happening on their own (after you do something like an attack) or manual. Manual means that the diceroll is happening only after you have clicked the dice again. This way you have the chance to rethink your decision.

Game is fun to play but have much more potential. See my first impressions thread to get a few points. But overall, if you like boardgames candlekeep is one of the better ones :)

There needs to be more characters. This game looks fun, but I'm not an humanoid animal kind of guy.
I have all the DLC packs but I dpon't see the option to change the look of the dice anywhere. What am I missing?

I have 2 DLC packs and I have everything except the dice are the same for all characters. How do I enable the custom dice?

Hello Congenital, each D20 is associated to a specific Hero. It automatically changes the look as soon as you've activated the DLCs.

Hello Cendragon, the dice will automatically change appearance when you've activated the DLC. If the issue persists please email us at support@talesfromcandlekeep.com

Is Dragonbait's d20 the same as the standard (i.e. green) d20? His looks the same and now that I have Asharra's DLC her d20 does look different.

No, Dragonbait's d20 is slightly more grey. You can view the different dice here as a reference: http://cdn.edgecast.steamstatic.com/steamcommunity/public/images/clans/30444453/c720a104b3e51f9841cdeeb9557401fa7bacc7f1.jpg

Thank you for the reply! This is very helpful. My feedback would be it might be better if the dice were a little more differentiated to make it more meaningful that the characters all have different dice. Like Artus and Asarra's dice look very much the same. Birsong's is cool and really stands out as different. Dragonbait's is the most similar to the normal die that i couldn't even tell a difference.

All that being said I got all four packs of DLC for free so I'm not complaining. Overall I'm getting my moneys worth playing this game through on all 3 difficulties and havinng the side questts is great!
