TED talk achievement didn't fire?

I did the magic incantation and the video played. I let it finish, but I didn't get the achievement. Did I miss something?

To clarify: In console, I typed yt then pasted in h t t p s:/www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAYkF04IZHI (without spaces) then hit enter, and it played the video.

That's odd, it should fire by just typing: view history.mp4 (tested it and in the 100% achievment guide Guinea confirmed that).

Also: sometimes achievements don't fire instantly, only when you exit the game. I don't know why, it seems to be a steam issue. (still investigating the issue)

It worked for me as soon as I typed the command you mention. However, videos do not play at all.

I just get an endless loading circle in the middle of the screen. The log is full of lines like this one :

Youtube VideoErrorReceived! Retry: Can't play movie [https://redirector.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?SOMANYPARAMETERS]
Filename: ./Runtime/Export/Debug/Debug.bindings.h Line: 35)

The url works fine when I paste it in a browser though.

UPDATE: tested it and using yt in the dev console does not unlock the achievement.
It was probably a delayed unlock from your previous attempt.

There is a command to reset a specific achievement:
(pasting text with ctrl+v works, so you dont have to type it)

go into the dev-console with F2

paste (or write):
steam reset _DEV_VIEW_HISTORY

open/reload the Progress Bar Simulator page in the steam client (go to "home" or somewhere else and come back, the achievement is gone on the right side. Your daily unlock still MIGHT show it.

paste (or write):
view history.mp4

open/reload the Progress Bar Simulator page in the steam client.
It should be back.

May i ask what operating system you are on?
Are you using a firewall, antivirus suite and if yes, which?
Do other videos work with the yt command?
Does the view history.mp4 work?

I'm running Mint 19.3 (MATE, x64). I don't have any firewall or antivirus. No videos work with the yt command, and view history.mp4 does not work either (it triggered the achievement, but no video was displayed, same loading circle as other videos).

Oh, I will setup a Ubuntu and Mint VM to test that (might take a while).
Weird, VLC wasnt able to play youtube videos today with the same error... looks like they might have done something there.... will investigate!

After an hour fiddling with VirtualBox and getting steam running (Virtual Box related issues -.-) I can confirm that the video does not play under Linux Mint (not that I doubted it, but I need the error to analyse it).
After tracking the issue further I have now an error from the youtube/google API and can try to hunt the issue down. It is definetly on googles side, not yours/ours.
I am REALLY SORRY for that, I will do what I can but I can not promise a patch any time soon
