Adjusting camera zoom and pitch/tilt

Go to your steam\steamapps\common\Field of GloryII\Data\ and open MAPVIEW.TXT

change to

PITCH 45
PITCHLIMIT 35 // 25
ZOOM 400
ZOOMLIMIT 1200 // 200
ZOOMINLIMIT 100 // 10
ROTATE 30
FOV 30

save

Have fun admiring your virtual figurines up close.

Thanks. It was the same issue with Sanctus Reach. I guess I understand why they limit the zoom in and pitch, for better performance on slower PCs. But, they really need to make this an in-game option. This really shows off the greatness of the game!

My taste, close up looks better at times. Just needs a mod for hills-sky for the black.

There is also now an in-game close ground view if you press Shift+3.

Not necessarily, GPUs now enhance model appearance quite a lot
