Solo Game
Is there a way to be able to play a game with no AI's and no other players?

It always tells me in SP and MP that it requires at least two teams.

You can set the AI to the lowest diffculty level, that's basically the same thing as playing solo.

I'd still have to go out of my way to kill them off, so it'd mess up what I want to try.

It's not a sandbox game. It's a game about competing/cooperating colonisation efforts.

This, 100% this. If you want a decent sandbox, check out Stronghold Crusader HD (don't get Crusader 2, though. It's worse in almost every way)

Not looking for a sandbox game... I just wanted to try something on this game. If it's not possible, it's not possible, fine. I was just asking if it is (and that includes editing / modding the game).

I'm not even aware of any way a mod could do it. The game is set up to immediately end when there's only one player left, AIUI.

There's the one more turn thing though isn't there? Even with only one player left?

I've tried a multiplayer hotseat game with no AI and deliberately do nothing with the second player and use the first player to kill them. I could keep going as the only player, but I couldn't burn down the second city which spoiled my plans.

You could try using the ingame-editor addon and just block the area around their first city with impassable land.

Disable all vicotry modes except Domination and enable Total Domination so all Cities AND all units need to be destroyed to win. Then take as long as you want for whatever

Well, managed it. Using Ryika's idea to get the in-game editor mod. Used it to destroy the AI's city and the game let me continue with just me in the game.
