Sounds like you where lied to. 3d screens could not run in full screen pre patch.
I think they didn't test much with nivida cards at all tbh. Ati is not known for strong 3d screen capabilities. I just think its less ati paying and the incompetence of the devs or 2k forcing the game to be published before it was ready.
Dodgy Dodgy Dodgy
For those not in the know 3D vision WORKS on any DX9+ game. That's DX9, DX10 and DX11.
For it not to work there must be code ADDED. AMD's deal with Nixxes locked out 3D Vision for Deus Ex HE. It took ages for them and lots of backlash to agree to unlock.
I think the reason high htz monitors failed was likely related to this.
and don't forget: Civ 5 was perfect in 3D vision. ;)
Just to be crystal clear.. it "works" (some things it works very poorly at but it does still work) for dx9+ "applications" i only want to make that clear because things like maya/3ds max/etc and some video players are also able to utilize it.
