Oil Well Pillage Repair
I was unable to repair a pillaged Oil Well Platform (at sea). Anyone else have a similar problem? I moved embarked worker units to the pillaged Oil Well Platform but I did not get the command option to repair like I do for pillaged items on land.
Also I had a problem with graphics on the largest maps, when the map was well explored and I moved the window location on the map I would get dark areas on known tiles which took a while to update. I am playing on a Dell i660 with 8 GB memory and Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit that I bought a year ago. I have played two games out to victories. The problem was not noticeable early in the game, just later when most of the map was explored by me.
I have been playing Civilization since the first day that the original Civilization hit the retail stores.

Huge effort! There should be a special award for that. That was long before Steam was born.

Not sure about the first day, but I've played Civ all the way from number one also.

I've had the exact same problem. Moving a worker over the pillaged oil well does not give me the option to repair. Mine was at sea also.

I believe there is a confirmed bug with regard to repairing improvements when embarked.

The dark tiles is due to a combination of to little video memory and speeding up the scrolling over the map.

Thanks, I had played Sid's Rail Road Tycoon which came out about a year earlier, so I had Civ I on order at a local software retail store. That was back in the days when game release dates kept slipping unexpectedly (with no notice) (not that much different from Today in some respects)
