Xeno Titan? No Xeno Wimpy...
When I fielded this unit I expected great things, I managed to get it to an enemy city with no damage and... wait he does the same or less damage as my minotaur!? He's a ********* MONSTER! He towers over everything, he costs a bloody fortune and he sucks! I am completely baffled at how terrible such an epic looking unit could be. Add to that the animations for the ranged harmony units are almost non exsistant and you've got a very dissapointing time.

My other major gripe so far is expansionist get punished HEAVILY! Two cities is fine, three and you're constantly on the negative, add anymore and you're downright stifled. (Unless you're an AI of course, then build away!)

It would be nothing more than a rant if I didn't try to fix it so here's my recommendations;
1) Make these seige units actually scary! You can't afford more than one often unless you got really lucky with city placement so there's no fear of seeing a zerg rush of these.
2) Finish the animations, it's so lack luster hearing the pew pew pew and not seeing anything from my arty units.
3) Either make some of these "luxuries" give health or slow growth dramatically when health is not in the plus. Right now I might as well play Civ 5 if I want to be a warmonger.
4) Holy ***** cities even basic ones are strong! They've got insane AA, can two shot most infantry (three shot the Xeno Titan). Tone them down! The Military is suppose to be the main defense not the civilians!
5) Color or label the Wonders in the tech web, I haven't a damn clue which is a wonder and which I should go for. Most of the time I don't even know it's a wonder until the I see some AI has built it.

The last gripe has to be with Covert Ops, Why is it I can't do anything besides steal tech or energy near the end game? Because the anti-spy tech is so powerful it won't let me build enough intrigue. Either make spies scarier or the anti-tech less scary, please.

I have 42 cities and my health is over +100.

I don't see how you can't manage with 3 cities or more.

I have a difficult time believing you had 42 cities without any form of cheating, if you did great but I'm highly doubtful. Please explain your strategy then as without cheats or glitches I sure as hell couldn't sustain 42 cities.

If you dont grow your population the health gets capped... Might be the issue if you missed it

Late game health is easy, most of your cities by the end of the game will give you health when you have 3-4 buildings with health boosts in them.

Its pretty easy to get massive empires in this game compared to civ5. Health is far more abundant than lux resources.

also the titan is pretty strong, an evolved titan can take out a city with 50 defense with the support of one ranged unit.

Well this was my experience, I don't claim to know much of anything about the gameplay. I'm just fustrated that I feel like I wasted time VS having fun. Edit: Just how evolved does the damn thing need to be? I swear a fly could have done more damage.

1. Sure, they cost a lot, but they're not THAT expensive. 2 or three current-tech units should be able to take out a Xeno Titan/Lev Destroyer/Angel, and they currently do. If you want a "wonder on wheels", they need to be a LOT more expensive to make up for it.

3. Go down the prosperity tree. If you do, you can't go into negative health even if you freaking try. I ended my last game with 14 cities and 43 health.

4. This is true early game, but certainly not true mid-to-late game. I can take a 90-defense city with about 4 units, which is about what I'd expect.

5. Wonders have a round edge, whereas regular buildings have a hexagonal border around them. It's a bit hard to see unless you know to look for them though, and I agree there needs to be a better marking.

Regarding covert ops, I think it's a bit of a balancing act. Stealing energy and tech are already extremely powerful. Being able to just take a city without fighting for it every 20 turns is insane. That said, just tech/energy are really boring.

I do appreciate the tips btw, Sorry if I'm snarky it's an effect of having an AI win.

I don't know about 42 cities, but I had 18 last night with 30 health. I stopped expanding because it became a pain to manage.

I will try again either later today or tommorow, though I think I'll go Supremecy this time.

Not sure what do you mean by whimpy... mine was the weakest civ efore I developed 2 Titans.

Not only the would take NO damage from other melee units resulting in a 100% victory, but when attacking cities, it only took 2 turns to capture them, I managed to wipe out 2 of the top civilization in no time.

If anything I thought they were a little overpowered (Not that I want them to change!).

Like having your own Godzillas.

Were you attacking the AI captial late game? They tend to have def. point at least at 90 or over plus with another military unit guarding it (usually a arty) they can easliy kill any affinity epic unit that doesnt have any support.
Harukage Oct 27, 2014 @ 8:05am
Main pro of Xeno Titan or any other ultimate unit is not how much damage it does, but how much it takes. You can practicaly walk over lvl 60ish cities and conquer a whole civ with 1 unit.

You should really read some strategy advices, because spamming crap cities everywhere is basically the most effective tactic at the moment.

Xeno Titan is nice, too. It doesn't have to be unkillable, it's just about the combat power that it brings on a single tile to allow you to push into the enemies defenses and get a strong position. He's your meatshield - yes, he'll die eventually, but at that point you should already have the upper hand.
