I don't see how you can't manage with 3 cities or more.
3. Go down the prosperity tree. If you do, you can't go into negative health even if you freaking try. I ended my last game with 14 cities and 43 health.
4. This is true early game, but certainly not true mid-to-late game. I can take a 90-defense city with about 4 units, which is about what I'd expect.
5. Wonders have a round edge, whereas regular buildings have a hexagonal border around them. It's a bit hard to see unless you know to look for them though, and I agree there needs to be a better marking.
Regarding covert ops, I think it's a bit of a balancing act. Stealing energy and tech are already extremely powerful. Being able to just take a city without fighting for it every 20 turns is insane. That said, just tech/energy are really boring.
I don't know about 42 cities, but I had 18 last night with 30 health. I stopped expanding because it became a pain to manage.
Not only the would take NO damage from other melee units resulting in a 100% victory, but when attacking cities, it only took 2 turns to capture them, I managed to wipe out 2 of the top civilization in no time.
If anything I thought they were a little overpowered (Not that I want them to change!).
Like having your own Godzillas.
Xeno Titan is nice, too. It doesn't have to be unkillable, it's just about the combat power that it brings on a single tile to allow you to push into the enemies defenses and get a strong position. He's your meatshield - yes, he'll die eventually, but at that point you should already have the upper hand.
