Having the same exact issues. We would be able to complete a couple turns myself and 3 other people with 2 AI would go into a loading screen and everyone will disconnect from the game. We tried different people hosting and with different people but same results.
Single player works just fine, only problem I see is when your looking at a city or have another menu open in-game and a AI sends you a deal it comes up blank.
Hope these issues get fixed soon, I expected launch hiccups so I'm not pissed, do love the game overrall so far.
1) One player couldn't join the game after several tries, the other player could without problems.
2) Then another player hosted the session, everyone was able to join, but then upon loading screen the game crashed for one player every time we tried this setup.
3) Again, the third player hosted the game, everbody could join AND we all could start the game. After two turns, one player was kicked from the game due to a lost connection (he has a very stable and fast internet connection btw).
4) The other two continued playing, a few turns further and the first OoS-Reload happened. After that, an excavation site disappeared his explorer was working on. Seemed like the "disappearing Caravans or Prophet"-Bug from Civ 5.
Although I read in an interview with a developer at Firaxis that the netcode has been reworked and made more stable, I feared that this sounds too good to be true. Especially because it's obvious that BE uses the exact same engine as BNW did.
Please Firaxis, can't you priorize these networking issues? :(
You must certainly see that multiplayer is very high demand...
- Load into game and see that I'm the only human player still in the game and that the people are replaced by bots.
- One time, I've completed turn 1 before the same message as above came up when I click the 'end turn' button.
- Game lets me decide where to place the capital, then it takes me back to the loading screen where it crashes.
Since today I haven't been able to play single player games. I did manage to play 3 games yesterday in single player without any troubles.
I'm looking into resolution/fps problems right now, but it's worth mentioning since I didnt have any problems yesterday.
In single player it all loads, till the screen suddenly moves a lot, then my monitor goes off, then back on and Civ is black screen with my cursor still showing.
Alt+tab to close and tried 3 more times without success
EDIT!!!!!
Now we at the point that my computer is crashing. The game crashed and it was like groups of pixels were misplaced. Windows gave me a bluescreen of death saying that it shut my computer down because of drivers failing.
Only way I can get it online is with safe modus, what the heck should i do.. Start with deleting Civilization?
Interesting! So if I understand the problem, a bad name causes the game to crash on launch?
The game log always grants credit for the victory exclusively to the Pan-Asian player, whether that was my friend or the AI player. I was Slavic Federation and built the Mind Flower that won the Transcendence victory; he was playing Supremacy affinity and had a complete Emancipation Gate but only a few hundred strength of military units loaded up.
Great game otherwise. No stability problems at all, and only one other minor gameplay bug.
- I just played about 3-4 hours with 2 friends and every ~45 minutes the game was loading new.
Once I payed attention and saw that it skipped 1 round as my research was finished after loading though there were 2 rounds left and I didn't get any researchpoints from other sources.
When I played with only 1 friend we did not have this problem at all in our 7 hour gamesession.
- Long wait time in between turns
