Alien hostility question
So I was wondering if there was a way to see the actualy number, value, of the alien hostility, and also, I read in the civlopedia or w/e its called for this game that aliens can befriendly to you, but under harmony the only buff I see is that they return to neutral faster, so I was wondering how I can actually become friendly with them? Does it just take a lot of time of not attacking them? Also do hostilities increase if they attack you, for example attacking your traders, or attacking your military units that happen to get to close to their nests.

You get to friendly (blue icon) by having one or more of their nests inside your borders for a number of turns. Around about 50 or so on standard speed I think

I don't believe they ever become "friendly" but I'm not sure. If you stay away from their nests and don't attack them they will completely ignore your cities and units. If you get near a nest and one of them attacks one of your units, then they all become aggresive towards you for a while. Ironically it seems the best way to coexist with the aliens is to start off by going purity, so your explorers don't cause a lot of aggression every time they stumble on a nest.

Edit: Ah, I never tried building a city near a nest.

To make the aliens friendly, you have to found a colony near an alien nest and incorporate the alien nest into your territory.

Afterwards you have to try to peacefully coexist with the aliens for the while (without the colony getting destroyed) (dunno how many turns ... I guess in the 50 turn range).
Afterwards the symbols above the alien units turn light blue and they won´t attack you on their own anymore

Strange? I'm pretty sure that my border destroyed any nest it came in contact with. Can't say I've been paying attention too much. My only affinity game ended with me slaugthering all the aliens after leaving them completly unarmed for 100 turn, watching them kill my stuff all the time.
Hell I didn't even terraform of remove the miasma, damn ungratefull buggers.

Borders don't destroy nests. MadDjinn on Youtube has a video of aliens becoming friendly, but I don't remember which one it was. I think it was one of the Franco-Iberia playthrough ones

that... is... awesome! I wish i had known that before I set up my 2nd outpost, as, there was a nest there i felt obliged to quash, but now that i know that it'll help a lot, thanks for the info
What about the building the projects a 2 space parimeter near your city preventing aliens from approaching, would this destroy their nest? ( I've played about 6 games so far each time trying to do harmony, most of those games the ai civ's built to close to me, or i was literally surrounded by 10 alien units on the map and couldnt risk looting those resource pods and excavtion sites)

On another note i have managed to actually recruit an alien unit to my side, i was harmony rank 4 (not sure if that us needed or not) but i was excavating an alien skeleton, and i gained a raptor alien unit as the reward, 3 move & 16 strength, but it didnt have an exp bar.
