In other words, while people are probably being a lot more rude in saying that you need to "get a better PC, kid", a graphics card upgrade wouldn't hurt if you have the money to afford it.
Don't be cheap and upgrade your PC. Games need to move on from older APIs like DX9/10. This is a good thing.

DX12 should be included in games around the end of 2015.
Also DX 9 came out on December 19, 2002. It's old so leave it to rest.

You're not emulating anything. Either you have a 10.1 compatible card or you don't.
"Software" Direct is simply the software needed to communicate between your game and the hardware. Having DX11 installed just means you can run UP TO DirectX 11 games - PROVIDED your card supports it.
