The exoplanets map pack you get for pre-ordering has planets in it that are based off of real planets.
It actually mean unknown and/or foreign depending on the context.
Yeah, I read the dictionary for fun. '>_>
No, because you are only on one planet. There isn't going to be cross planetary warfare. It's going to be like civ 5 was, which is everyone being on the same planet.
I like these new "barbarians", speacilly they won't be such easy at the end. But it would be cooler, if designer had given us more variant. It does need to be that many different type. Few speacilly for desert planet, few for all type of planet(random names), few for jungle planet and so on...
Hmm...DLC in coming?
^^ this, we are arriving from a different planet. That seems to be the common description of the word "alien" nowadays.
How is that Fireaxis' fault that you decided to spoiler yourself and read/watch "almost everything about the aliens"?????
For one thing, the alien wildlife is way more dynamic, interesting, and varied compared to their "counterparts" (barbarians) of old. Yes there may not seem to be a great variety in number, although if you count sea creatures and aliens that serve as resources it's a little more broad, but you also should consider that modding will likely add alot more to this in the future (As well as official updates or expansions). On top of all that you can go Harmony and use the aliens directly for warfare.
So despite them seeming to be more limited in number than one would imagine a new planet to have, they are way more interactive and adaptive as a secondary system in the game. Remember your main antagonists are still the competing factions and not the alien wildlife. Depending on how badly you tick off the local wildlife of course. :) I am quite sure future mods or updates will introduce a more human-like sentient alien faction as well.
