How to Deactivate Time Victory?
It caught me off guard while playing as De Alencar in my last play through. How does one make the game last as long as needed until one of the five victories is achieved?

When you setup your game go to Advanced and tick Max Turns and put in 999.
Otherwise the game ends in 330 turns for Quick or 500 turns for Standard speed.

That's something I thought of, but it says it would deactivate victories. I am aiming for a Supremacy one this playthrough, but I'm not sure it would affect it.

Setting the max turns to 0 will actually disable it. Yes it's bassackwards that in order to disable the time victory you have to check the advanced option that you would expect to enable it instead.

Only the time victory, any other victories you have enabled work fine.

The max turns option does not affect any normal victories (the ones with quests ingame).
It does affect the time one, but it doesn't deactivate it, instead makes it harder to achieve (900 turns instead of 500).

In my experience ticking the option ON and leaving it at 0 does not change the default time victory settings. That's why I said put in 999.

Yeh I'd like to know this too, wasn't there an actual option in the base game? Why did they remove it?

The option is there, it's just poorly labeled since most people expect an option that says "Max Turns" that is disabled by default to mean you need to enable it if you want to have a maximum number of turns, not if you don't.

If you hit the time victory is there the usual option to keep playing that game? I like to play with all victory conditions turned off, and the idea of my game ending due to anything short of me being completely wiped out just doesn't sit well with me. I have been playing with that box unticked, because "common sense," but if it means my current game is going to suddenly end on me I might abandon it and restart.

There's always the just... one... more... turn button, if you don't play with the other victories enabled then whether or not the game declares you the winner probably doesn't matter that much so it'd be a minor inconvenience at best when it pops up.

Sweet, thanks.

Once a victory has been declared, you can't complete any other victory.

The other victories aren't disabled by setting max turns, but the achievements for them are.

THAT is what I wanted to know. I thought max turns wouldn't affect victories, but achievements is something I was aiming for. Well, that sucks:/
