Rising tide is horribly broken

That is NOT cheating in any way. The problem is the new diplomacy system has a option to give you a % of your stockpiled energy, just like the virtues, but unlike the virtues, it's not capped.

Exponential run-away energy. Pretty hilarious. I'd give RT a month before Firaxis completes balances the system.

I've noticed a couple of problems too; lots of spelling mistakes and issues with managing multiple concurrent events and notifications. It's the first day though, I'm sure it'lll get fixed.

I can't see your screen because no remotely secure browser will let tinypic load anything.

I did notice the 5% interest agreement, I'm not sure who thought that was a good idea to add in. That's just so obviously broken, I don't understand how anyone could sign off on it.

what idiots beta tested rising tide?
Astasia Oct 9, 2015 @ 2:29am
I am assuming it's something somebody threw in at the last minute without thinking about it or asking anyone if it was OK, possibly while drunk. More than one set of sober eyes on it would have instantly red flagged it, no testing required.
Yeah, there's definitely some imbalanced stuff going on. Combining certain seeding options now with the new personality traits, and adding the old virtues, can result in situations where you get massive yields... just won a game where I was getting a new Virtue policy every 6-8 turns for the final 70 turns of the game or so, all because of going Artists, getting some of the Knowledge policies (up to the 10% cheaper Virtue cost or whatever), picking one of the new personality traits for culture, and then grabbing a diplo agreement that added culture to every strategic resource. Seriously, it was ridiculous.

But the exponential energy thing I hadn't seen yet. Like you said, sounds like the Industry virtue if you removed the cap. And that would be absurdly over-powered.

As someone else said, expect a patch probably in 1-2 months that corrects some of the more brokenly OP things you can do.
I'm now in turn 287 and have 9million energy and making 462k a turn.

You make it sound like such a serious issue. I already fixed it on my end, I just didn't take that treaty. Did I just blow your mind? The AI doesn't know how to abuse it, so just ignore it, they will fix it when they fix it. It's basically an exploit, most games have exploits, they are just usually more difficult to find.

Or 18 months or an endless ammount of months.

Some of us don't play vs AI. First RT late game multiplayer ruined because several players were abusing this.

Going purely on the history of civ 5 and BE, then there should be a short term patch in a period of a week to a month and then a long term patch in 3-6 months. Questionable if we will get much more untill the next expansion. There is, of course, room for debate.
