my2k login functional?

I haven't seen any recent posts, but I just can't get the thing to login. It just keeps giving me "failed verification" messages.

Do I just need to go back to editing the files to unlock things? I picked up Starships a while back because I got tired of having to edit the files. (As an aside, Starships is a fun little time waster for when I feel brain dead. No comparison to Beyond Earth itself, though)

Yes, I've been editing the various files to unlock all the stuff in BE for years. I got tired of doing that, though (since it resets every time I re-install Beyond Earth), so I picked up Starships in order to unlock them permanently.

I guess it's tied to the my.2k thing that doesn't work, though.

I also picked up Starships to use it with the my2K, & even went to their stupid website to manually enter my information, but I cannot seem to login using the required game login. It just keeps saying I have invalid credentials! Does anyone else know if this works or not?

It doesn't work.

From what I've been able to find out from researching around, their login servers got hacked sometime in the past couple years, and while they fixed the servers and their new games, they never bothered to go back and patch their old games. So until they do that, games like Starships and Beyond Earth quite simply cannot communicate with the new servers. At all. There's nothing we can do about it.

So it's back to just editing the files to unlock all the things that I paid to get Starships just to unlock...

Thanks for letting me know. I also bought Starships for the same reason, so now I need to find a mod or manually edit the whole stupid thing myself...

Thanks for the confirmation. I thought I was going crazy typing and re-typing my password over and over again. I should have searched the forums first!

Dammit I hope Firaxis gets around to fixing these things. Seems like the company has been in disrepair since the end of the pandemic and Midnight Suns underperforming.

I haven't checked out that specific guide; but I do know the principle works. I've been doing that for years. I just got tired of my changes being overwritten every time I verified files to fix something; so I purchased Starships to get them unlocked permanently.
