UI Scaling at 4K
Does anyone play this in 4K? I've had other strategy games give me issues at high resolution with UI scaling so small I can't see it. Trying to decide whether to upgrade to a 4K monitor and gauging by how many games I'll actually be able to play on it.

Thanks moosabi for the tip. The small text and UI are killing my eyes.

I don't mean to necro an old thread but this is the only thing I could find that isn't just changing font size, which is just dumb with all the overflow. How did you get this to work? When I select override high DPI and follow your instructions, the game becomes so big that it displays only the top-left 25%, like I'm zoomed in.

It works for me, but it has to be in windowed mode.

Another thread necro but this thread helped me a lot so I wanted to contribute. Good news, I got it working! All with a good resolution, font size, good UI scaling AND fullscreen by slightly modifying the instructions originally provided by GR3YHOUND.

These steps include the following assumptions:
* Windows 10, 3840x2160 native resolution, nVidia gfx card
* You're launching the game for the first time without messing with your font or the compatibility settings (yet)

1) Right-click desktop, click "Display Settings"

2) Under "Scale and layout" > "Change the size of text, apps, and other items", mine is set to "150% (Recommended)" (the default for me)

3) Launch the game, go to "Options" > "Video Options" and turn off Fullscreen (for now), apply the change, then exit

4) Go through GR3YHOUND's steps above, except I selected "System (Enhanced)" in the "Scaling performed by:" dropdown. "System" may work too but I haven't tested it. Apply the change and launch the DX11 version of the game.

5) Go back to "Options" > "Video Options" and check Fullscreen again. When I did this, the "Screen Resolution" field auto-selected 2560x1440 59 Hz. Click "Apply Resolution".

6) Voila! Enjoy! This resolution still looks great for me, the UI is properly scaled and all the text is very readable.

Obviously with countless setups, monitors, video cards and other setting combinations available out there this may not work for everyone, but worked for both me and my fiancee. We both have 32'' monitors with 3840x2160 native resolutions. I have a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti and she has a 2080 RTX.

Good luck, hope this helps someone like it helped us! And thanks to GR3YHOUND for finding and posting the original solution which allowed me to find this one.

Honest question, how is this any different from just setting it to 2560x1440 from the start? It feels like picking 1440p with extra steps.

Sorry to necro once again but after some tries, here is a final sum up of the solutions on this thread as on today, please correct me if I say anything wrong.
1) You can use this method to change the fonts in 4K Fullscreen :
https://www.reddit.com/r/civbeyondearth/comments/2ka1ac/irrilians_doityourself_guide_to_increasing_the/
Downside : Most of the UI will scale, but only those with text in it and depending on the Font Size, it can overlap.
2) Don't play in 4K but in 1440p (2560x1440) were the UI is smaller than 1080, but still readable.
(that's what @exteel.golem is doing in a more complex way, as @SgtSweetieBelle questionned)

And that's all.

NB : If you follow those steps :
https://steamcommunity.com/app/65980/discussions/0/364041776188416833/c1693785035806758149#c1693785035806758149
It does'nt work in fullscreen, showing only the 1/4 of the screen (in 200% scaling)
If you switch back in windowed... It just revert in 1920x1080 but still showing "3840x2160" incorrectly.

Actually i found a fix for this.

- Go to the steam install folder something like: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization Beyond Earth

Right click the CivilizationBE_DX11 or CivilizationBE_Mantle file and go to propperties

Then go to the compatibility tap and sellect Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by: then sellect system and press apply.

This fixed it for me but i have windows scaling on 200%

This worked for me! I am also playing in windowed mode. Thanks!
