"Play in Starships"

what is this about? it is an option in the main menu but I have yet to find out how to make it work

It's part of the cross-game functionality between Beyond Earth and Sid Meier's Starships. You click the button and if you own both games (and have them connected via a My2K account) the next game of Starships will be based on your game in beyond Earth, which... I can't quite remember what exactly it does, but I think it sets up Leaders and Affinities the way they were in your current game. Or something.

Or in other words: Meaningless fluff.

oo well i have startships (but i have only played 5 minutes or so) m'b i should look into that

I have the same problem, clicking on starships does nothing. support said that it was a problem with the game! But I dont have the game starships.Any one know how to fix this?

Well, if you don't own Sid Meier's Starships, you can't use the feature.

What is a My2k account?

I purchaced starships and installed the game but still nothing happens when I try to select starships in the in game menu of beyond earth. What is a My2k account?

There should be a button in the corner somewhere on the main menu for BE, "My2K"
Click on that. You should be able to make an account through there.
You'll need to find that button in Starships as well afterwards, to link the game to the account.

I now have a 2k account but I can't see the page that faq how do I link my account shows: How do I link starships to beyond earth? I have never played starships in my libaray yet as this is a separate game from beyond earth. I need exact steps necessary to do this please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1.) You start Beyond Earth, click the icon in the main menu, enter your account details. Beyond Earth is now linked to your My2k account.
2.) You start Startships, click the icon in the main menu, enter your account details. Starships is now linked to your My2k account.
3.) Now with both games linked to your My2k account you can use the "Play in Starships"-button, and it will save your setup on your My2k account. The next time you play Starships, you can import the settings (now sure how exactly that's done anymore, but surely there's some button somewhere during game setup), and then play with the setup in Starships.

What this will NOT do is start Starships inside of Beyond Earth for you, they're seperate games and will always be seperate games. It just saves data on your account so you can move the Sponsor- and Affinity-Setup between games.
