This game is absolutely worth the money if you like a game with stategy and simulation elements. It's even more awesome that the game works with a screen reader! I recently lost my eyesight and have been going crazy with not being able to find something to play that remembers that blind people like games too. More games like this need to be on Steam.

An ASCII game that doesn't require a degree in theoretical physics to play /10

Just chilling playing the game when I find the "Great staff of Dumble". A powerful legendary artifact that can only be used by those containing Dumble within their name, which boosts their power by double in the Arena! (My favorite pastime)

I simply must have it so I spend an hour or so refreshing candidates and running battles just hoping for a John Dumble or Dumble Smith to bear this glorious artifact and become my new strongest champion, fit to lead my armies and crush my enemies! But that time never comes. I grow convinced that there must be some other method, some secret place to find Dumble hidden in the many nooks and crannies this game has to offer.

I exhaust every town of its options before burning them to sift through the ashes, I find myself banned from the powerful kingdoms to the south for my repeated barbarism, and near bankrupt my kingdom buying all the knicks and knacks I can find, but still no Dumble. I return to my throne room defeated and tired, eager to use all the other trinkets I picked up along the way looking for my Grand Dumble.

I read and reread all the books I own discovering little nuggets of worthwhile information that surely lead to another thing to covet, I ask advice from the Dev himself on where to begin my next search and am met with even more riddles, I prospect the mines in the game searching for something greedily deep until my hand hurts from typing the same 6 numbers over and over and over and find many things! But not my Dumble.

When a King is frustrated, who else to suffer it but his enemies? I conquered the world. With no enemies, who else to suffer but his kingdom? I had picked up a book unlike the others. 101 Cruel Ways to Rule. It taught me many ways to be unusual or downright evil. I tried many of them for a laugh but one stuck out to me more than the others. "Name Unity". It clicked in my mind instantly, the one thing I was focused on finally presenting itself a solution. Why have one Dumble when you can have MILLIONS? I demanded that everyone in my kingdom become Dumble and so they did. I held a tournament to get the strongest Dumble with which to bestow the staff. Scared of rejection I halfheartedly gave him the staff, expecting to be told he did not meet the requirements. He held it and became more powerful than any other. I had finally done it, I had my Dumble.

That was all well and truly fun, but my favorite part of this story comes after. I posted about my success to the Devs surprise!
"The Dumble Staff is so obscure I've only seen it work for myself once long ago..."
That seemed odd to me. Surely if its the intended solution you could replicate it as often as you wished? I told him how I did it and he replied:
"The ability to rename everyone was added way after the Dumblestaff so I guess I just didn't connect the possibilities of the name change system, always refreshing to see it from creative players though :)"

That's when I fell in love with this game! It's not often that a game can have unrelated systems combine to form such hilarious emergent gameplay. I proudly represent my title "of the Many Dumbles".

At 10$ Warsim is an absolute steal and it regularly goes half off. The dev is active and passionate, it's extremely customizable and funny, and there's so much more to do than just hyper-focus on one best left forgotten mage staff.

폴더의 Ascii.txt 를 0 -> 3 으로 수정하시면 됩니다. (왜 3인지 모름 그냥 해보니 됨)

데이터 폴더의 텍스트들을 한글로 바꾸시면 해당 파일 불러올 때 에러납니다...

실행이 안되서 많이 해보진 못 했지만 언어만 되면 재미있어 보이네요.. 프로그램에서 유니코드만 지원해도 텍스트만 번역해서 어떻게든 플레이 할 수 있을 듯 한데..

제어판-국가 또는 지역-관리자 옵션-시스템 로캘 변경 (관리자 권한 필요) 에서 영어로 바꿔주시면 될듯합니다 제 경우에는 해결됐네요 cmd가 실행이 안 되시는 거면 잘 모르겠지만 cmd 실행 후 아무것도 뜨지 않는 건 저렇게 하니까 됩니다

추가- 한컴오피스 글꼴이 볼드로 표시되어서 시스템 로캘을 다시 한국어로 변경하니까 돌아왔네요 참고해주세요 그리고 게임 재밌어요

Quirky, Fun, sometimes a bit bothersome to use.
Can't wait for the Graphic Version in 15 Years!

I think the single biggest problem with the game is the name: "Warsim".

It sets itself up to be considered a possible grand strategy war simulator, while the actual army vs. army aspects are easily one of the weakest aspects of the current content. Wars, as they exist now, are just one list of troop names colliding with another list of troop names for a few turns. Fortunately, the game has so much else to do that's fun and interesting, it's very easy to forgive and forget this shortcoming.

The real core content and strength of the game are the large number of the different locations and activities you, as the Ruler of the Kingdom of Aslona, can discover and interact with. There are towns with dozens of different locations. A whole legion of different characters who will visit you in your throne room.

Some of it's mundane or comical, but an equal share is deeply interesting with potentially game-altering consequences. Initially, you'll often struggle to tell which category a particular encounter falls into, which helps keep you guessing. Eventually you find your way (or are defeated while trying) and then start a new game only to find many of the things you took for granted on your first playthrough have changed. Old core locations might now bar your entry entirely, while new ones, previously in ruins, offer fresh avenues to explore.

It's a testament to the game that I willingly sat and took real-world notes during a pair of in-game history classes to help pass their exams. I still don't know what the reward is for passing the third such exam, but my curiosity compels me to find out. Worst case scenario, the reward ends up being meaningless, but I'll still have a much better grasp on the game's background lore and might be able to exploit that knowledge in other encounters. If that's not good game design and storytelling, I don't know what is.

Which isn't to say the game is perfect. It's still got plenty of unbalanced content and general interface clunkiness that are pretty standard for early access games still actively in development.

Ultimately, the game has dozens of hours worth of the content and more slowly, but steadily being added. If it looks like something that might interest you, it's really a steal at $5 USD.

I made a kingdom into a giant empire after taking over with necromancy and my subjects love me but I still occasionally get a hit to public opinion due to raising the dead, I conquered over 10 other kingdoms and have a strong alliance with a kingdom of super strong godlings and I make the bulk of my kingdom’s wealth through arena gambling, I retired twice to see what would happen and the first time my empire fell to ruin due to infighting which ruined my once great civilization, the second time some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ usurped my kingdom by killing everyone else trying to claim the throne after I got killed by a lose tile in my ceiling, I wish I could become a lich necromancy or have intelligent undead soldiers, oh well, still awesome! 10/10 would get killed by ceiling tiles again!

No one reads my reviews but I just wanted to say I like this game and it is fun.

Got it on sale today with the last 4 bucks I had on a Birthday Visa gift card because I had nothing else to do with it. Getting a game this fun with this much depth and complication that's somehow not mind mindbogglingly confusing feels like daylight robbery. If I'm not very careful this game could take all my free time lol
