Windows 8.1 Compatibility

Any trick to get this game working in windows 8.1?

ATI 7970 / Intel i7 can't get past the intro, just lags through startup but never actually crashes.

Tried compatibility modes and messing with the config file, maybe someone else might have some insight.

Wipe everything that 2K has in the appdata portion of your computer. After that verify the integrity of the game files and re-download those files. If it still doesn't work try isolating the .exe and debugging it from there. Most of the time its a situation by situation case. Another thing that has been known to work is deleting the shoes folder in appdata (I think there's one for 2k11).
