(i don't claim i got the story right, these are just my thoughts on it)
After finally unlocking the "full access" achievement, I thought that the garbled text would uncover some interesting plot points, but what was revealed was very anticlimactic. I tried reaching out to the game devs as I know they check these discussion posts, but got no response.
I feel like the trailer for the game is misleading in the sense that it gives you a sense of a storyline that just isn't there.
I just read your explanation, lia. Pretty good summary.
At least I have confirmation then that it's not just me missing something obvious, and I'll have to settle with having gotten a nice experience out of the puzzles and atmosphere. It's just a bit frustrating that there's not even answers for the questions on the store page, and I don't even understand why the game's named 'Sorry, James'
Just thought of something.. Has anyone checked if the game turns out differently if you don't open any of the files?
I tried this while we were trying to figure out how to unlock the Full Access achievement - the game plays out as if you did open the files.
As for the plot of the game, I understood nothing... At the end of the game I had more questions than theories, because none of my theories adds up to something solid enough...
Agreed.
I'm looking at Lia's write up (good by the way) and noticing that the fully decrypted messages in the large list of Mariia's computer are the same as my playthrough. I naturally assumed that the ones unlocked had linked to how many of the puzzles I completed 'cleanly' . Is that NOT the case?
I knew Elisa was a bot, but I was hoping that I'd unencrypt both sides of the whole conversation and then the pieces of the puzzle would come together and really kick off. But it looks like you can't see all of Tom's messages, right? Bit confused, waiting for more.
and thanks to all those who bothered to look through my text ^^
"No, there is no “full” story.
Whole idea was to make user feel himself as Tom and come up with Tom’s replies by yourself. Something like this.
But you are mentioning really good point, that we’ll be probably better to have more Tom’s point of view in Mariia’s account."
