My opinion on review bombing
Honestly, this is the first time i've seen this with a game that everyone thought the game would be R18.

Yes i added summer vacation to my wishlist thinking the game would be an R18 game, i assume that because i'm a perv lol.

I think you all did the same thing otherwise why there would be so many negative opinions on the game and many topics on the absence of an R18 patch.

The truth is that we did not have confirmation that the game would be R18 4 years ago because the developers never communicated about it.

However, the images/videos seemed to show us the opposite because they were explicit, the mention of sexual content was also present, but some people on the forum say that sexual content does not necessarily mean R18.

Then the images/videos and the mention of sexual content were removed from the steam page by the developers just before the game was released.

They then created a subject to explain their choice to have made summer vacation an R17 game.

If we analyze the topic pinned by the developers, we can conclude that at the beginning of development, summer vacation should have been an R18 game.

Personally i don't blame the developers for having made the choice to make summer vacation an R17 game, i'm just disappointed that the game is not an R18 game, which is why i added it more than 4 years ago in my wishlist.

Even i have little hope, i may be gullible, but i hope they will make an R18 patch which is why we all added the game 4 years ago to our wishlist.

I made the decision to contact the developers by taking the email address on the summer vacation site, I have no illusions, I know full well that they will not answer me, moreover they do not answer , but from time to time they respond to emails.

So maybe the review bombing will impact the next games they make or maybe not.

they can still save summer vacation tbh. pretty sure they have all assets for the H stuff available, they just decided not to include it in the final release. it's just a matter of time before they implement those features into the game and give the players what the want lol. and by then, we could fairly call it a good game.

Yep, add somes news minigames + patch R18 with the gameplay of VR Kanojo could save the game.

By the way in VR Kanojo, there are not many H-scenes in the game, i think the best solution is to take the H-scenes from VR kanojo to add in summer vacatiion and then create some new H-scenes to increase the number of H-scenes.

To be honest, I am sure that Summer Vacation is finished at this point and there is no way that it will be changed again. The game is released and the developer's statement is clear. All the negative reviews and refunds after the project was completed only worsened the situation even further. If they weren't willing to put in adult content before, why they should invest even more time and money now and throw it in a flopped game with devastating reviews and barely players left after refunds? Because of the dare hope that some players could return? To put it mildly, that sounds adventurous.

idk my guy. for all we know, the devs could be internally discussing it (at least that's what i'm hoping). i think a lot of people on then forum have made it pretty clear that we'd gladly buy the game again once they implement the stuff we want, which i'm sure were available from the start of development, seeing as how summer vacation was intended to be released as an R18 game. but yeah, i get what you're saying. i'm just hoping that they won't abandon the game.

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that's exactly what's happening now. Why would they even consider at this point making any more DLCs for a game that hardly has any players left? Because some strangers on the internet told them that if the devs grant their wishes, they'll come back? These are completely non-binding statements that are guaranteed not to make superiors reach for their wallets. The devs are already working on the next project. (Which is normal in game development) There are maybe 1-2 patches left and then the lights go out internally for Summer Vacation. And then they produce again what sold better - flat games and maybe even mobile games. If the last one was successful enough.

There are dlcs with koikatsu party and honey select, so they could very well make a dlc for summer vacation.

Apparently our comments had overlapped. I wrote in my last post why this is not to be expected with Summer Vacation.

Btw. not only Summer Vacation is almost certainly dead, Viva Project also died today. :(
The dev discontinues the project. It's getting damn lonely on the VR games market.

What is viva project ?

It has nothing to do with adult-stuff, but is a PCVR sandbox game with AI companions to spend time with. Since it is also based on japanese subculture, some people here also know it.

Just wonder, though, did the developer state anywhere that this game is adult-only?

Also should it this kind of games be all porn? Pretty sure Summer Lesson isn't one of them.

A long time ago there was allegedly a tag that referred to adult content. However, this has long been removed and the article page has been revised several times already. It was also never specified what that would mean in the first place. A large part of the community insists on H-scenes, but it could just as well have been the idea that Alice takes a shower naked.

I personally do not think that Summer Vacation needs H-scenes. It is a story experience about a vacation romance with different activities. I think it's a pity to devalue the game mercilessly and to call on the buyers to refund just because some of the vaguely implied hopes weren't fulfilled.

I think at the start of development the game should have been an R18 game.

See this paragraph on the R18 topic pinned, " we have decided to make this title non-adult ".

The paragraph is ambiguous, 2 hypotheses, either they never wanted to make the summer vacation an R18 game or they canceled the R18 patch when they resumed development of the game.

And as i said on other topics, the negative ratings are due to the absence of an R18 patch, it's a fact.

On the "News" page for this game, on March 15th the devs wrote:
"This is a non-adult game. However, we prepared a patch to enhance the content of the game so that players can enjoy it as you have imagined."

A patch that would let us play the game as we imagined...
I was expecting adult scenes in the game.

yup, that's proof enough. pretty much suggests that this was going to be an R18 game, but the idea was scrapped at the last second. it goes without saying that that was a big mistake by them lol.
