OP: This game is absolutely worth playing. Its freaking awesome. Its like Combat Mission FPS. The mission editor makes even better.

@Nonebit, indeed, i learned that armaholic died today. I'm glad that last years i backed up all the addons i like.
Still, not even close to how many addons of Arma 1 and 2 the site had. T.T

Thanks! and also remember when you download mods its better to make a folder for them in the games location. inside the folder should be a folder named "addons" and inside it the PBO files should be located.

Let me be the person that begs to differ here. If you didn't play it before and you are not an arma junkie it's not worth buying (yet). It's ripe with frustration, and all mods are basically gone forever. Save the money you'd spend on it and get the upgrade you need to get a toaster that can run ArmA 2 or better yet ArmA 3. Shouldn't cost you more than 50 bucks at this point.

Find Arma-1 anywhere, buy it for $2 or $3 on Steam at the time of the discount.
Play embedded single player (SP) missions and campain[s], find and play multiple campains from Internet (beware of addons needed).
Find servers with multipleer missions (MP) here.
And play with a good enough pleasure. German server needs no addons, Soviet one needs only A.C.E. 1.09 and Arma 1.18. Enjoy!

As a big fan of arma series I liked the first campaign a lot, even if the last mision was an epic pain in the a5s.
I also have a potato desktop pc but I could run it fine, except the last mision (I don't know why I droped so many fps there)

Hello to everybody.
My PC specs:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6400 CPU @ 2.70GHz 2.71 GHz
16,0 GB
OS 64 bit, processore basato su x64
Windows 10 Pro

I've recently upgraded to a nVidia GeForce GT640 (I know i know, it's not the ultimate PC as most of you have, but for my needs it's fine for now, and I'm not fussy at all in playing new games, I'm more interested in those old ones I couldn't play properly before).
I've bought many years ago ArmA Armed Assault Steelbook edition

and with the previous graphics card I had no issues. Oddly with this current one, once the game is loaded, I cannot see ANYTHING. It's all grey, all the icons in the menu is a darker gray and you can't read AT ALL, the moving background is like in a fog, just see the outlines moving. The audio is present.

I have installed Arma Cold Assault and that works (ahhh, memories!); I've downloaded from Steam ArmA 3 but still have to try it. I just want to play ArmA AA, if anyone can please give a helping hand...

You need to downgrade the game to 1.14
