"Gone but not forgotten" Achievement- not working ?

Hello there, first i'm really enjoy playing this game, and i love to complete it 100% with all achievements.

But, confusingly, I'm missing an achievement that I can't manage to get it, the name is ‘Gone but not forgotten’, which a lot of people have but not me.

This hit consists of writing a letter when you die, I've seen some let's plays by curiosity and when they first die/fail, the game suggests you write a note in a bottle with whatever content you want. And I don't think I remember getting it? It only appears at the first death and not at the others?

Or do you need a specific mode? I've tried both (normal and fantasy mode) and it's not working

If the only solution is to uninstall, delete the savegame and reinstall the game for it to work, I'd do it :( (in which case I'd finish the last achievement with the shanties)

But i'd appreciate getting some solutions or something, thanks !!

There are certain contexts that bottle message prompts will not appear in. Being hanged for Piracy is one of them.

Fastest triggers would be either setting out with no food until starvation/mutiny or attacking a ship you can't defeat and then getting sunk.

You might check settings to see if "Bottle Messages" are on as well.
