Secrets in the game files...

There's "Silver" and "bg_data", and they both have sets of numbers in them. I have no idea what to do with this info, so might as well post it here. Any ideas? Or has this already been solved?

It's part of a secret. So far we know this: every version of the game (Mac, Linux, Windows, and DRM-free) was bundled with one of these images. If pieced together, you can find instructions to open a hidden cheat console.

The way to access the console is to press both shift keys while on the main menu and click on the skull. So far the community has been able to find two cheat codes: one for glitch particle effects, which can be found by going 238,000 miles past the Gate, and one for infinite money, found in a file called bgdata.txt in the Windows version. I'm told there are more codes and more layers to the mystery, and that the most promising place to look right now is in the game files. If you find anything, I for one would be grateful for updates!

You gotta replace the numbers with letters, like Gwynharwyf said, so completed it reads "Hold left shift and right shift while on the main menu then click on the skull"

Try sailing beyond the fog for as long as you can! There’s a few codes there. Other than that check through the files.
