A quite good story, multiplayer mode, editor and much more... It's also pretty realistic (Startup, Shutdown, Aerodynamics). Playing it with high video settings is awesome. I really enjoy this game.
Its way more realistic than say Arma 2 vanilla or BF3, but its no where near as realistic as say BlackShark. It has a bit of features like simuated wind, physics with longwire, weight etc, ground effect is kinda simulate and you can even destroy the engine with a bad start up.
Whats not as good is the handeling. What is done in the game is done within the limits of the Arma 2 engine. So acrobatics whise and flying sidewasy fast etc isnt very realistic.
If you dont want the super complexity of BlackShark, but would like a bit more than the average helicopter game then this is a good choice.
I recommend getting the bundle when its on sale.
Hind DLC is, apart from flying Hinds, lack luster. Its just a bunch of missions not linked with a story etc. Main game story is decent for a civilan helicopter game, but the ending was a little lack luster.
It was very much worth the digging in and pushing past the frustration. Once you "got it" man, talk about fun, realistic, and a real sense of accomplishment. I miss the old days of Combat Flight Sims.
Surely you mean the Apache? I remember having loads of fun in Longbow 2, which also included the Kiowa and the Blackhawk. Doesn't hold up today, but it was still way ahead of its time.
