Playing with proton on Linux
Was anyone able to getting this to run through Steamplay (proton) on Linux?
On startup I get "Can't find TKOH serial number in registry" then the BSI splash screen shows up and shortly after that a message comes up "Bad serial number" and the game exits. But I wasn't asked anywhere to enter the serial number.... Anyone knows how to fix this? Or where to enter the product-keys?

I don't know if anyone has continued to look into this, but I managed to get TKOH working on Linux today.

I've got a dual boot with Windows 10 on another drive that I use if I absolutely have to, so I logged in there and installed TKOH then went to regedit and exported the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\bohemia interactive studio.

I then booted back into Linux and opened regedit using Wine - env WINEPREFIX=PATH TO STEAM LIBRARY/steamapps/compatdata/65730/pfx regedit.

i then renamed the registry key Steam had set up and imported my new registry key back in. I did have to change a couple of paths for the game and expansions as they're in different locations.

After that, the game launched straight away and I've successfully crashed multiple times when trying to land :P

Does anyone know how to convert the serial number you are given to the key entry that goes into the registry?

People figured out how to generate the registry key from the cd key form Arma 2 and wrote a perl one liner for it. Same method worked for me with Take on Helicopters:
see the issue on github[github.com]

thanks, that worked...

but i have one problem left: ToH doesn't find my Pedals (Thrustmaster Pendular Rudder Pedals). Any idea how to fix that? They work fine with native games (WarThunder, AeroFly FS2, X-Plane 11)...
