Try un-plugging any controllers you might have plugged in.

Have the same issue, no controllers plugged in and they still auto move up straight to the ceiling. Any idea on the issue?

Same here, unplugged, saw a thread from earlier in the year that said to opt into the developer beta in the settings that didn't work for me either. Might work for you who knows

I ended up reformating (For an unrelated reason), reinstalled and everything worked fined. Never figured out why it was happening but if you don't mind the reformat, that should work.

Its probably a side effect of the physics system the game uses. i dont use a controller and it still happens for me. you can usually just bring your hands back down, but occasionaly (idk if i spelled that right) they clip through your head and are impossible to remove. sorry, im not sure how to fix it.

I finally figured out how to fix this. Even if you don't have a controller connected and it still keeps controlling your arm, all you have to do is connect a controller and assign all the controller binds to one button and one axis on the control stick for the joystick inputs. After that there should be no uncontrollable arm/hand movement

Unplug your controller
