Resetting the area on revive.
Would it be possible to reset the area when you revive?

Since each stage is broken up in to 3 distinct areas, each with their own puzzle to get the red gem, if you make any mistake at all in the second or third area puzzle, you have to redo the whole stage, including the puzzles you already solved. Since many of the puzzle are very easy to mess up and be made impossible to solve, it is very frustrating to have to restart the whole level every time you accidentally jump on a switch facing the wrong direction or take more than two tries to make a tricky bounce off of a monster before the bouncing kills it.

Reviving is useless in these cases because it doesn't reset the blocks or revive that monster you accidentally killed but need to bounce off of. It would be better to restart at the beginning of that area with everything reset.

To be clear to others, the red gems are not required. You can skip them, kill the boss and not have to redo anything, but getting all three gems is the first goal to consider the stage "complete". There are others, such as completing the stage with no revives or killing the boss without taking damage.

It's possible I haven't thought this through all the way and it would somehow break the game, but having to redo those puzzles over and over is sapping my will to continue. It would make the game go faster, but I'm currently at 4 hours and only on stage 2-6. I don't think play time is an issue.

Let's see...
I don't think that would be a good idea. I can give some info about the game though.

1. Obtaining all gem "without dash" would not give you 100% completion, but just more score. The same with defeating boss without revive, or even taking damage at boss.
2. There would be items to help you obtain the gems more easily later on, so you can skip some of them.
(Just see the item on menu, it is shown even though you haven't bought it yet)
3. You can skip a gem and obtain just that gem later on at revisit. Just make sure you have enough mp for check point, and there you can leave the stage whitout fighting boss (but might need to pay a little amount of PAW).
4. Lastly, if you or anyone think that a gem in a certain stage is too annoying to obtain, even with all of the dash item in inventory, feel free to rant about it. I will take a look into it.

Ok, I didn't realize you could leave the level at the checkpoint and get credit for the gems. That makes it better.

Now that i think about it, i can just let the player the retain the gem they obtained even if the game restarted. (but of course, not the score)

I added Check Point on every part of stage on Ver 1.10, with that you can restart the stage at that part.
You still need enough MP to activate it though.

I hope this would reduce the frustrating part of the game.

I think the gem in Balloon Flight which requires you to kill an enemy that carries a green balloon in the right position is quite frustrating. Haven't beaten the game yet, but so far that's the gem that made me retry the most. I must've spent one or two dozen tries there XD

Maybe you can make the green balloon monster stationery, or add a dash option?

Actually, you can just stomp at the enemy for easier way to kill it, and land on the balloon afterward.
There also would be up-dash which would help you to obtain that gem later on.

so how to leave a level at checkpoint? activated it and jumping aroudn it for 5 min :D

ah only works at the last checkpoint... cringe.... if i have to paly the complete level i also can fight the boss 1 more time :D why not make this an option at every checkpoint (e.g. if u miss the first gem)

Boss fights take longer than reaching the boss checkpoint from the start of the level.
The levels are very short if you ignore everything in your way.

yea thats a point, nevertheless why not implement the option also to leave from every checkpoint not to only from the last ?! seems just ... unlogic :)

It should be on the new update (Ver 1.14z)
