It's like the developers have never seen a keyboard or played a PC game before.
Anyway apologies, and thanks for letting us know.
Well, it isn't for me. I keep mine plugged in all the time, and it uses odd buttons for a lot of things. X for interact (A is more common, perhaps you use X instead?). LT to fire second gun to the right. RT to fire primary gun to left. RThumbstick does nothing, cannot change direction ship fires in. Cannot access system menu while in the motherbase, have to press tab/enter on keyboard to get map/quit menu.
I'm used to K&M right now, but the lack of precision aiming and the odd choices for keyboard settings (IJKL for weapon select, not 1-4? really?) makes me want to try the 360 controller....
If you want me to take this to it's own thread, let me know. I hate hijackers myself.
A bit of googling and I found someone that describes the controller pretty well here: https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/2a0a4x/gamepad_for_xbox_360_drivers_not_found_issue/
My controller does work for most games, but one or two have issues which I think were related to using a generic driver. It shows up on my Devices and Printers page as a "TSZ360 Pad", with a strange looking icon. Currently, it appears to be using the proper driver as it shows up in the Device Manager list as a "Xbox 360 Controller for Windows" under the "Microsoft Common Controller For Windows Class" category.
*shrug* I think I have a spare official microsoft wired controller somewhere, from when my sister passed away. I realize that my issue may be a one-in-a-million kind of thing (who uses 10+ year old gamestop brand controllers?), so I'll swap it out and check whether I still have issues. Thanks at least for talking about this. Hearing nothing from devs on forums sucks.
@E. Randy Dupre. But isn't it exciting when you find out there's a whole new set of menus, with more new ones unlocking all the time ;) It won't be in the next patch but we'll look at clearer signposting on the menus.
