That's true, but that's like comparing syph to gonorrhea. Even with the patch Gothic 3 is an unfinished buggy mess, a real trudge to get through and completely unrewarding to do so. JoWood didn't give PB the time they needed to do the game justice and it doesn't have the rough charm the first two games do.
I want to ask is this like an expansion pack? Does it have a different story than Gothic 3 or adds quests over Gothic 3 or just the same Gothic 3 with improvements?<
And why people dislike it?
It follows the story of Gothic 3, it is not made by the same team, but still is a nice roundup of the G3 story and it got honored by the Gothic creators PB as a worthy Gothic title.
The story is nice, the gameplay is ~okay, better graphic, and every gothic player should have played it at least once.
Many people didn't like gothic 3.5 but i think it is as good as Gothic 3
However: Nothing beats gothic 1 and 2
